Do I need to bring my own mat/ equipment?
We have a full set of yoga mats, blocks, bricks, straps, bolsters, blankets and eye pillows so you only need to bring yourself and perhaps a bottle of water.
If you would prefer to bring your own mat or other props you are very welcome to.
What time do I need to arrive?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class, this is to give you a chance to check in and get settled on your mat to allow the class to start on time.
You can take advantage of the free herbal tea and sit in our reception area if you are early.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes before, the studio door may be locked if there is another class finishing up. The studio doors will be open 15 minutes before the class.
Can I book a class without a membership?
Yes! You don't need a membership to come to Found. You can book individual classes directly from the schedule or choose a class pack, depending on what suits you best.
Is there a changing room/ shower?
There is not a formal changing room or shower, but you are able to change in our bathroom.
I've never tried yoga before, where should I start?
Our 'Foundations' classes are a great place to start as they are aimed at those new to yoga, you could also try a 'Foundations Flow' class, Foundations Flow is a slower paced yoga flow class.
If you do other sports such as running, lifting or a team sport you might like 'yoga for sport/ runners', it is an inclusive class that has more demos and encourages already active people to add yoga into their routine.
Do I have to be able to do every movement?
No, Nobody is expected to do be able to do everything, and learning is part of the process. Your teacher will offer options where possible, and you're always encouraged to work at a level that feels appropriate for you.
Is there somewhere to leave my belongings?
Yes! We have cube storage for you to leave shoes, coats, bags and other belongings
What should I bring/ wear?
Just bring yourself, comfortable clothing you can move in and a water bottle. The studio has yoga mats and kit. For calisthenics, you might want to bring lifting gloves to help with grip but they are not a necessity.
Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move freely. For yoga, anything you feel comfortable stretching and flowing in is great. For calisthenics, fitted or secure clothing can be helpful when working on skills, using bars or practising inversions.
Shoes are off for both yoga and calisthenics classes, you can either be in socks or barefoot.
Where can I park?
The roads around Found have free, unrestricted on street parking and it's usually easy to find a space.
So while there is no designated parking for Found customers you should be able to find a space easily.
What if I have an injury or health condition?
Please complete our health information form when booking and let your teacher know about any injuries, health conditions or changes that could affect your practice before class begins.
Our teachers can offer modifications where appropriate, for more serious health conditions/ injuries, please get clearance from your GP to exercise.
Do I need to be strong to try calisthenics?
No. Calisthenics is about developing strength and control using your own bodyweight. You don't need to be able to do a pull-up or push-up before you start. We'll work on the foundations and build from there, with progressions to suit different abilities.
What if I'm not very flexible?
You don't need to touch your toes to do yoga! Flexibility is something you can develop over time, and yoga is about much more than stretching. Come as you are and work with the body you have today.
Can I attend if I'm pregnant or recently had a baby?
Our classes are not specifically designed for those who are pregnant or post-natal.
If you are pregnant or post-natal please seek advice and clearance from your GP to come to open level classes and let your instructor know before class.
If you are less than 6 weeks post-natal you will not be able to come to class. You must be more than 6 weeks post-natal and have had your 6-week medical check.
We are working on offering specific classes for pre and post-natal parents.
